COCIR EU-China Seminar Builds Mutual Understanding Of Regulatory Healthcare Framework Representatives from the Chinese administration and the European Commission joined today with the European healthcare industry at the ‘Joint EU-China Seminar on Medical Devices’, hosted by COCIR* at the request of the European Commission and the Chinese institution AQSIQ. The seminar provided a platform for sharing learnings and best practice on regulatory affairs, particularly on environmental legislation as well as other areas of common interest. It was attended by representatives from a wide range of associations representing the European healthcare industry as well as policymakers. The aim of the joint seminar was to strengthen and facilitate communications between the Chinese institutions, the European Commission and European industry on issues such as future environmental legislation in China. COCIR supports its members, who are leading global companies, many with significant activities in China. Easing market access and promoting global harmonisation are key priorities for COCIR. “Today’s seminar was characterised by open and constructive dialogue between Chinese and European participants. It was a valuable opportunity for strengthening relations and building mutual understanding on both sides” said Nicole Denjoy, COCIR Secretary General.
